Life is full of hustle and bustle and there are fewer and fewer opportunities to actually get out daily routines and rest. Even when the chance to take a break and relax comes up, the traveler in making is more often than not faced with the daunting task of finding the right place which is both serene and affordable.

However, this need not be the case anymore because opportunities abound for the weary individual who is looking for a place to rejuvenate.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . The green mountains are ideal whether one is looking to relax on their own or with family and friends.

For the newbie, it has been scientifically proven that having some green plants in the home or office space has the capacity to cause the onlooker to relax. How much more when these small potted plants are replaced by dense forests and vegetation?

Therefore, a trip into the mountainous area should prove to be calming for the mind, body and soul. These mountains are located in a serene environment, which means that the guest will have the capacity to relax from the inside out, less the noise of every day life.

In short, for the person who is looking for that one of a kind boost for their senses then the picturesque green mountains should suffice.

Do you love to vacation and wait for those two weeks every year to come up. Maybe you grab the kids and head to an amusement park or pack the kids in car and head to grandmas. Well, you might be ready to step your vacation plans up a notch and try something different.

This vacation won’t take a lot of your hard earned money, but it will give you a chance to enjoy the beauty that is right in your home town. Exploring the foothills can be something the whole clan can enjoy and it is a welcome change of pace from all those crazy expensive rides at the amusement park.

Give all the kids a disposable digital camera and pack a lunch and lots of water and get ready for an adventure that everyone in the family will remember for years to come. Often you can get information about trails to hike and things to see from the forest service. Don’t forget some band aides because once you get started, you will want to hike all day.

Sometimes the best things in life are right at our fingertips, so take a chance and try something new. The hills are calling you and you won’t be sorry if you answer.

Spring is a great time to consider a vacation to the foothills. The weather’s great, the greenery is lush and more often than not animals are out and about after a long winter hibernation. If you’re considering a family vacation, take off work, lock up the house and set your adt security systems, then think about the following destinations:
California has several beautiful foothills regions including Catalina and Sonoma Valley. Both renowned for their scenery, Catalina has more in the way of activities and watercraft while Sonoma is best for the food and wine lover. Consider what types of activities you’d like to do as a family and plan your California foothills vacation from there.
North Carolina has a lot of great regions that can be considered foothills as well. The Sandhills, a foothill region designated by its temperate climate and sandy dunes, is home to the Pinehurst Golf Club and Resort, a luxury spa and golf destination. Also in the area are several small mountain communities outside of Pinehurst that make for charming day trips.
Colorado has numerous foothills regions, all with a mountain town feel. Enjoy hiking, rock climbing and even river rafting in the foothills of Colorado – there’s plenty for a family to do here!

When traveling to different parts of the world, it is quite obvious that the United States has it’s own beauty. The topography of the United States is extremely vast. On the east coast, there is the Atlantic Ocean which has the mountains and the beach, along with Florida and the beautiful beaches. On the west coast there is the beautiful pacific ocean with beaches and mountains galore. Perfect for skiing, and surfing. The foot hill regions of the United States are especially beautiful places to visit and explore. There are the foothill regions of North Carolina, Colorado, Los Angeles, South Carolina and San Gabriel Valley. These foothill regions boast beautiful lakes and streams, green hills that are lush with vegetation, and breathtaking natural beauty. Some of these areas even have waterfalls bustling over huge rocks. These areas are ancient and were at once occupied by native americans. Many times these areas are left unharmed by commercial buildings and pollution. They are left preserved, and for the most part, the natural beauty is left intact. During the fall, the leaves on the trees in the foothill regions turn gorgeous shades of yellow, orange and red. The beautiful foothills are a must for anyone to visit through out the country of the United States.

Family vacations should be a big deal. It’s always nice to be able to take a break from the everyday busyness to spend quality time with loved ones, though not everyone gets to go on a vacation. One family is lucky to go on one vacation a year, while another family is fortunate enough to take several a year, seeing the sights and sounds of the world. Here are some tips to making that next family vacation worthwhile, whether its your only vacation, or your third, of the year.

1. Call a family meeting and get input from each member. Ask where everyone would like to go on their vacation. Don’t shoot down any suggestions.

2. Gather all the suggestions and, as a family, decide which ones are reasonable and which are not. Try to combine all suggestions into one trip. If one wants to visit the moon, while another wants to visit the beach, consider going to Florida to visit the space center and the beach, http://www.beachballs.com/.

3. As a family, set out a plan of action for the trip. Ask yourselves, “Where are we going and when?”

4. Start saving up money as a family to pay for the trip. Children can save an allowance while parents can skip a morning coffee run.

5. Go on the trip and enjoy quality time that everyone had a hand in creating.

People often consider their best vacations ever as those that took them to places such as, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Italy, and Disney World, and Disney Land. They reflect on the memories of eating at the best restaurants, visiting the famous museums, or all the fun rides and scenic tours that these places offer. Many of us, however, are not able to vacation at such places, for various reasons, but those reasons do not have to spoil our abilities to experience a equally fabulous vacation, a vacation filled with lots of fun, beauty, and also adventure.

Although we may not have the ability to explore the adventure of traveling the world, we can however, explore the adventure of traveling around the country to some of the most beautiful foothill regions the U.S. has to offer. My family enjoyed our camping trips along the beautiful foothills,www.saltrivertubing.com/ along the Salt River., while being shaded by the vast, awesome and beautiful mountain range. The U.S. has lots of beautiful mountain ranges and trails that host activities year round.

As you continue your exploration of many mountain ranges nationwide, consider camping during the winter,www.trails.com at various locations in Arizona, Southern California, as well as Denver, CO.

Of all the states in the country, Colorado has the highest average altitude which contributes to its nickname of “the mile high” state.

Mt Evans holds the honor of having the highest paved road in North America since it climbs to over 14,000 feet above sea level.

More than one-third of all the land in Colorado is owned by the United States Federal Government; and the Bureau of Land Management controls more than eight million acres of Colorado’s public land.

Colorado is home to almost 20 rivers whose headwaters begin in the state, and there are eleven national forests within the state.

The tunnel between Clear Creek and Summit County in Colorado, known as the Dwight Eisenhower Memorial Tunnel, is the highest altitude tunnel in the world since it was bored at an elevation of 11,000 feet.

The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 3000 miles from their northernmost point (in Canada) to its southwestern point in New Mexico.

The highest major summit of the Rocky Mountains is Mount Elbert (the Sawatch Range) with an elevation of 14,440 feet (4401 miles). Interestingly enough, Mount Elbert is also the “most isolated” of all the major summits.

The rocks in the Rocky Mountains were formed before the mountains were raised by tectonic forces, and the oldest rock is Precambrian metamorphic rock that forms the core of the North American continent.

The mountain range was formed from 80 to 55 million years ago and has been shaped and sculpted by eroding water and glaciers.

Ecologists divide the mountain range into biotic zones (having to do with the type of wildlife and organisms living in each area), and there are two zones that do not support tree growth.

Minerals found in the Rocky Mountains include gold, copper, lead, molybdenum, silver, tungsten, and zinc.

There are several areas with noteworthy reserves of coal, natural gas, oil shale, and petroleum.

Population within the range is quite sparse with an average of ten people per square mile; and very few cities have populations exceeding 50,000.
