California has several beautiful foothills regions including Catalina and Sonoma Valley. North Carolina has a lot of great regions that can be considered foothills as well. The Sandhills, a foothill region designated by its temperate climate and sandy dunes, is home to the Pinehurst Golf Club and Resort, a luxury spa and golf destination.
